# Runs on the stack you already have
Silicon connects to nine warehouses, reads your dbt project, checks pull requests on four git hosts, and delivers answers and reports to Slack, Microsoft Teams and Google Sheets. Your data stays where it is.

How it fits together
## One set of metrics, every tool
Silicon queries your warehouse live, so there is no copy of your data to keep in sync. Metrics come from your dbt project or Silicon YAML, which means a dashboard, a Slack answer and a Google Sheets sync all use the same definition of each number.
Git integrations check every pull request against the dashboards and metrics that depend on the models it changes, and comment before anything merges. Delivery integrations send answers, scheduled reports and alerts to the places your team already reads, with each person's permissions applied.
Most teams connect a warehouse and their dbt repository first, then add Slack or Microsoft Teams once their key metrics are defined.
